Me n my new fast bike

She aint nothin but fast! I feel guilty riding this bike because it takes no effort... 38.9 miles today.. 103 heat. 175 mins... and I dont feel like I did anything !

Nice cloud cover

We are having a very nice and cloudy summer. You can't imagine how discouraging it is to have 90 degrees and blazing sun at 600am day after day. Lately its been low 80's and clouds until I get to work.. NICE! Tomorrow I will be riding my new spectrum titanium bike... will try to get a pic in.

Been thinkin.....

I have been thinking about getting started again with promoting bicycling, and how to go about it. I really enjoy giving classes and doing safety training and just having a friday "bike talk" like i used to do at lunch at Glatting. Maybe the Wellness Center people at work will support a little class or two, or at least a weekend ride for newbies. I had a real nice 35 mile ride this morning out to mesa and talked to a couple guys on the rail about bikes (i was taking a little break getting out there). Getting very excited about our vacation in Portland! Malisa is out there now and her apt bldg has a guest suite  we will get for a few days and i am checking out a cabin rental up by mount st helens... looking good !

Hello I'm back!

Hard to believe it's been almost a year and a half, but it's been crazy busy. We bought a house in a historic district near downtown Phoenix, and it was one heck of a fixer upper we got at auction. So it's been a lot of work. Speaking of work, that has been very busy too, so adding to the fact that we now live 10.5 miles from the office, I am not riding as much as I would like to, in fact, 2012 was my lowest mile year since I started keeping track in 2004. I'll be writing more regularly again, soon. About to get started riding with the Phoenix Bike Club, more to come on that. Also getting started with mentoring in the Quest program with Youth Pathways, and getting re-trained for the new IFMA CFM Exam review class, so I can teach that, will be in LA for training this coming Wed-Fri.
