6/12/26 - Bemidji rest day !

So i woke up this morning nice long sleep 9+ hours but still super tired, I decided a rest day would be best and so i first called to change my car reserve to tomorrow, then booked a massage for 12:00 noon, then went to the front desk and got my room for another night. Oh had a really good breakfast in between i have not had those make yourself waffles before but the last week that's about all you get besides scrambled eggs at the Americinn's i been staying in... well there's gray sausage lol lol... didn't brave that so started on the waffles and i been enjoying them... now i have rebooked and just about time to head around the lake bottom to the massage place, it's strange to have my bike unloaded and it's up to 20 mph winds outside but looking forward to the massage then i'll just cruise around they have lots of bike trails here besides the MRT (Mississippi River Trail) and the Paul Bunyan State trail... beautiful lake front park at least one i've seen so far and a big library so there are things to check out in beautiful downtown Bemidji ! And it was a great massage traditional thai w swedish deep tissue also, stretching pulling, standing on my legs and back ouch but feels great now some hours later. After that i rode around downtown a bit, saw some public art, there are 2 theaters one professional and one community both had plays tonight thought about it, but then had a nice salad at the wild hare bistro and coffee shop before they closed. Rode around some more saw everything downtown stopped in the bike shop got a new pump and had the mechanic look at my left crank arm that keeps coming loose, he took it off and said no its ok just need a bigger wrench or more muscle to tighten it up and he did it no charge... liked the bike what kind is it? Bilenky,oh, it's a nice build... rode around some more saw the anti-ice protesters, some native americans there are a lot around heree one lady shouting you can't be illegal on stolen land ! and they were on the main drag whever the light changed all the cars going by honked their horns... then stopped in a liquor store got some na beers for later since i'll have a rental car tomorrow i can get a 6 pack haven't had any since i got here well i did have one with that burger in St Cloud... Got back to the hotel got in the hot tub then got sleepy was about to nap but started on pictures sorting out still can't upload thought about switching blogs to cycle.travel see if thats easier i'll try blogspot one more time first... then it was time for dinner decided to watch the usa world cup game at 8 so went to town on the bike back to the pho restauarant they were busy 20 minutes wait but it was worth it... then back here watched the game had some pretzels and peanuts with the na and now it's bedtime but i will mess around with pics first. Tomorrow i am renting the car and i'll drive alonhg the trail i thought i would be biking but it's 91 miles to the next town with a hotel too far to bike in a day so i may drive and stop there see how it looks maybe keep the car another day i am enjoying these small towns more than the cities for sure... Now i just see ICE was here today and detained some workers at a housing site.. local police werenot involved... so that's why the protesters were up there... i saw a FBI guy get out of a car as i rode by and go to a parking lot whre the police had a guy out of his car too, a bank parking lot... odd... geez they are everywhere...
